Functionalized aromatics are widely presented in pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and multifunctional materials,so the research of functionalization of aromatics is very important.Aryl Iodides and trifluoromethyl-substituted aromatic play an important role in many fields due to their special physical and chemical properties. Our research includes ipsoiododecarboxylation of aromatic carboxylic acids by one-step and direct trifluoromethylation of aromatics. The specific research contents are as follows:(1)A practical, efficient, and operationally simple strategy for the ipsoiododecarboxylation and di-iodination of aromatic carboxylic acids using inexpensive aromatic carboxylic acid as substrates, iodosuccinimide(NIS)as iodine source and Pd(OAc)2 as a catalyst is developed. This iodination or di-iodination process can be easily controlled under different reaction conditions, providing corresponding iodination or di-iodination products.Furthermore, these two reactions can be easily scaled up to gram-scale by using only 0.66 mol% palladium catalyst. This work provides a feasible way for the synthesis of iodinated aromatic.(2)Graphene oxide has special physical and chemical properties as a new material which has been widely used in the field of organic chemistry, and has become one of the research hotspot currently. Here,a practical strategy for the metal-free trifluoromethylation of arenes using the inexpensive sodium trifluoromethanesulfinate as a trifluoromethyl source in the presence of graphene oxide was developed.,This strategy provides a new way for the synthesis of trifluoromethyl substituted aromatics.
