As an important component of UV curing system,monomer can not only reduce the viscosity of the system,but also affect the polymerization kinetics and the properties of the cured polymer.When heteroatom containing photopolymerizable monomers were added to the coating formulation,UV curing coating will have special functions,such as antifouling,antifog,water resistance,acid and alkali resistance,and the coating processing conditions will also be improved,which is a new research direction in the photopolymerization field in recent years.One of the most important and most attractive direction is the syntheses of UV curable silicone containing monomers,because its cured material has excellent flexibility,water resistance,weather resistance,chemical resistance and thermal stability.In this paper,the photopolymerization of synthetic silicon containing monomers was carried out by free radical polymerization mechanism.Firstly,different functional siloxane containing structure(methyl)acrylate monomers were synthetized by the reaction of isocyanate or amino containing silane coupling agent with other chemical synthesis,then the monomer were added to the UV curing coatings formula,physical and mechanical properties of these coatings were tested.Then different functional silicon containing acrylate monomers were synthetized by the reaction of chlorosilane with 2-Hydroxyethylacrylate,the polymerization performance of monomers were tested.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:1.Three kinds of different functional siloxane structure containing high adhesive(methyl)acrylate monomers were synthetized and the structure of the product were characterized by IR and NMR.Real time infrared was carried out to monitor the effect of different initiator concentration and different light intensity on the photopolymerization kinetics of monomers.2.Then the synthetic monomers were added to the light curing formulation,and the properties of UV cured coating were tested.The surface properties of membrane were characterized through the contact angle,water resistance,solvent resistance,hardness,adhesion test,the results show that the synthetic monomers could improve the interfacial adhesion between the polymer coating and substrate.The mechanical properties of polymer materials were characterized through dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA)and tensile test,the tensile test results show that the elongation increases with the addition of synthetic monomers,which is due to the presence of flexible chain segments-Si-O-C-in synthetic monomers.3.Four kinds of different functional silicon containing low viscosity acrylate monomers were synthetized and the structure of the product were characterized by IR and NMR.Real time infrared was carried out to monitor the effect of different initiator concentration and different light intensity on the photopolymerization kinetics of monomers.The conversion of synthetic monomers was compared with other same functional monomers in same light conditions respectively.It was found that the synthetic monomer have high photopolymerization activity.4.The basic properties volume shrinkage and viscosity were measured,the synthetic monomers have lower viscosity than the same functional photopolymerizable monomer.Dynamic mechanical analysis was carried out to get the modulus and glass transition temperature data.Thermal gravimetric.analysis was carried out to find synthetic monomer have good thermal stability.
