| In the modern construction,welding technology is widely used in various fields.Root welding is the first step of the welding process also a crucial step.Due to technical reasons,it mainly relies on manual welding nowadays.It is difficult to guarantee the quality with manual welding.It is imperative to study of automation root welding.Penetration information self-extracting is one of the critical circumferences to realize the auto-root weld.Visual senor can offer a lot of information about welding pool and it doesn’t influence welding process.It can become one of the most promising professional sensor technologies.However,in some specific circumstances,it doesn’t allow artificial observations in the back of the welding situation.We have to extract the penetration information only through the positive shape of the molten pool,and then estimate welding quality.Since the character of welding pool can reflect the penetration in a certain extent.In this paper,the front character of the welding pool was obtained through the vision sensor technology.Penetration information was extracted and the relation between parameters of welding pool and penetration was studied.The main study work and results are as following:(1)Based on the vision sensing,a root welding system was established according to vision sensing require.(2)Welding pool image was extracted through HALCON software and specific image processing method was designed to get the area,length-width ratio and advancing angle of welding pool which are related to penetration.(3)Welding experiments were executed to acquire the parameters of welding pool and penetration with different welding parameters such as current,speed and workpiece’s angle and gap.It was discussed and analyzed to acquire the relations between the front welding pool character of welding pool and penetration with different welding parameters.(4)The experiments were executed to verify the above rules with different welding parameters.It proved that the front character of welding pool can reflect penetration status. |
