Polypropylene(PP)has a light weight and a low cost,oil and chemical corrosion resistance,non-absorbent and other excellent features.Polyamide6(PA6)has high strength,excellent wear resistance and oil resistance,and a certain water absorption.The production of the Polyester(PET)always ranks the first place in the world because it has the best composite property.In this research,we use the composite spinning method to prepare side-by-side composite fiber.It has advantages of two kinds of compound fiber material as well as reducing the deficiency that PP doesn't have the water absorption ability.Maleic anhydride PP was selected to improve the compatibility of PET and PA6.The shear rate viscosity curve of three kinds of polymers was measured.And according to the rheological curve,we found a region that the viscosity rate of two kinds of polymers approach to 1.According to the rheological curve,the spinning temperature of the polymer was set.And PP/PET side-by-side composite fiber and PP/PA6 side-by-side composite fiber were prepared.Fiber cross section morphology,mechanical property and crimp morphology were measured.The splitting of side-by-side composite fiber was studied and the best splitting method was discussed.The water absorption and measure wicking effect of two kinds of side-by-side composite fiber fabric was compared.The condition of PP/PET side-by-side composite fiber was studied.The spinning temperature of PP and PET was 260? and 300? respectively.With this condition,the effect of fiber spinning was the best and the cross section morphology was clear and PET which had a high viscosity was wrapped by PP which had a low viscosity.With the PET component increasing gradually,the tensile strength at break and the elongation at break increased.When the component ratio of PET was 70%,the tensile strength was 2.79 c N/dtex.The elongation was 49.6%.The condition of PP/PA6 side-by-side composite fiber was studied.The spinning temperature of PP and PET was 258? and 285? respectively.Similarly to the PP/PET,with this condition,the cross section morphology was clear.PP had a low viscosity,including PA6 which had a high viscosity.With the PA6 component increasing gradually,the tensile strength at break and the elongation at break increased.When the component ratio of PA6 was 70%,the tensile strength was 3.15 c N/dtex.The elongation was 28.0%.PP/PET side-by-side composite fiber and PP/PA6 side-by-side composite fiber both have potential crimp properties.With heat treatment,the shrinkage stress was different at the interface.So it can be a natural crimp characteristic.When the component ratio was 50/50,the crimp effect was the best.The splitting condition of PP/PET side-by-side composite fiber and PP/PA6 side-by-side composite fiber was studied.The results show that PP/PET side-by-side composite fiber used alkaline treatment to spilt.Splitting conditions were as follows: 100?,bath ratio 1:20,30 min and 1.5wt% Na OH solution.PP/PA6 side-by-side composite fiber used acid treatment to spilt.Splitting conditions were as follows: 100?,bath ratio 1:20,30 min and 15wt% HCl solution.The water absorption and measure wicking effect of two kinds of side-by-side composite fiber fabric was studied.The results showed that both the water absorption and measure wicking height PP/PA6 side-by-side composite fiber are higher than PP/PET side-by-side composite fiber.The same composite fiber with different component ratio,the component with 5:5 has the highest water absorption and measure wicking height.PP/PA6 side-by-side composite fiber has a better hygroscopicity and wet permeability.
