The development of mixer has witnessed the process of mixing technology which is from the trial to the continuous innovation and improvement.The mixer plays a crucial role in the mixing process.Not only is it as an independent mixing equipment,but as the important components of the combined type mixing production line(single step mixing at low temperature,series mixing and continuous mixing).For the corotating rotor mixer,DouglasW.mac Leod(American)applied the patent of co-rotating and intermeshing mixer after the long term research and development design,which is a great invention.In 1999,the mixing mechanism of synchronous tangential rotor was studied in Qingdao University of Science & Technology for the first time.The advantage of the synchronous co-rotating tangential rotor on the mixing process is systematically analyzed through experiments,and the advantage of the mixing of the synchronous and co-rotating tangential rotor mixer is affirmed again.But it has not achieved breakthrough application due to the poor effect of feeding.The mixing mechanism of the synchronous co-rotating rotor is studied in depth in this project.In this process,the corresponding test platform was developed,and the corresponding experimental research has been carried out.The specific work and achievements of this paper are as follows:1.The mixing mechanism of “Three comprehensive action of mechanics in shearing-extrusion-stretching” was put forward based on the experiment and mechanical analysis.The mixing effect of shearing and the action of compactification by extruding when the compound is in an elastic and viscoelastic solid like state was analyzed.And the formation of the three dimensional viscoelastic structure between the rubber matrix and the reinforcing agent particles is influenced by the elongational fold and flow,shearing flow and the action of compactification by extruding when the compound is in viscous flow liquid like state.2.According to mixing mechanism of “Three comprehensive action of mechanics in shearing-extrusion-stretching”,the mixing effect of synchronous co-rotating rotor in all parts of the mixing chamber.And then the configuration of the synchronous corotating rotor is optimized and improved.By optimizing the structure of the cam,the feeding capacity of the synchronous co-rotating rotor mixer is improved.3.3D printing technology is creatively combined with the visual mixing detection technology.A visualization of the micro mixer test platform which can test the mixing property of rotors was developed,and a set of rotor research and development program which is from the rotor multistage parametric software design,rotor mixing performance software simulation,rotor optimization design 2D and 3D design,software simulation,rotor optimization,3D high efficiency and high precision printing rotor,visual rotor experiment platform experiment to the small-scale and rotor tests,pilot experiment and industrialization was put forward.And then the related software is designed and the micro mixer test platform is trial-produced.4.Two kinds of rotor test platform which can test the feeding capacity and reflect the mixing property were developed.One can carry out the synchronous and corotating tangential rotor,the synchronous and counter-rotating tangential rotor,the asynchronous and co-rotating tangential rotor,and the asynchronous and counterrotating tangential rotor.The other can carry out co-rotating and counter-rotating meshing rotor.5.A new type of sinusoidal variable speed mixing technology was put forward.Through improving the control software of the testing equipment,the contrast experimental study on the sinusoidal chaotic mixing and the traditional constant speed mixing process is carried out.The influence of crest velocity and trough velocity on mixing is analyzed and the influence of velocity change on the axial,circumference and radial directions of the compound were analyzed.At the same time,EDEM software is used to simulate the flow characteristics and the distributed mixing capacity of the traditional co-rotating rotor mixer and the counter-rotating rotor mixer to optimize the configuration design of new rotor.6.Based on the test platform developed,a test program is put forward.Under the same process parameters,a contrast experimental research between synchronous corotating rotor,synchronous counter-rotating rotor,asynchronous co-rotating rotor and asynchronous counter-rotating rotor is conducted.The Experimental results show that: the tensile strength of the compound of the co-rotating rotor mixer is improved by 4.6%,the dispersion of carbon black increases by 6%,and the tearing strength and other mechanical properties are also significantly improved.The heating rate of compound is slow,so it is suitable for mixing of the thermal sensitivity materials.
