Nettle fiber is abundant in China.It is great practical significance,development and utilization of natural resources to study nettle fiber.In this paper,the chemical method was used to extracted nettle fiber.The research work mainly includes the following aspects:(1)Study on the composition and morphological structure of nettle fiber.Scanning electron microscopy,infrared spectroscopy and X diffraction were used to analyze the longitudinal and transverse morphology of the nettle fibers,and to characterize the functional groups and the crystallinity of the nettle fibers.The results show that the fiber has a circular cavity,the surface of the fiber has streaks and cracks,the main functional groups are hydroxyl(-OH)and alkyl,its crystallinity is 75.8%.(2)Test of ultraviolet resistance of nettle fiber.According to the evaluation of GB/T 18830-2009 "anti-ultraviolet property of textiles",the design of the experiment was used to test the UV resistance of nettle fiber and the comparison with ramie fiber and cotton fiber.The results show that the nettle fiber belongs to better protective properties of anti-ultraviolet textile,ramie fiber is slightly better than nettle fiber.the cotton fiber isn't anti-ultraviolet textile.(3)Test of antibacterial properties of nettle fiber.The antibacterial plate diffusion method and bacterial OD was used to test antibacterial properties of nettle fiber and compared with ramie hemp and cotton fibers.The result show that the test results of plate diffusion method and bacteria OD have shown that nettle fiber has antibacterial properties,and it is better than that of ramie.The nettle fiber has antibacterial properties to 1% concentration of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli as same as ramie fiber.,but the 5% concentration of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli antibacterial effect showed that two kinds of fiber with high concentration can't inhibit the growth of bacteria.The experimental results show that the plate diffusion method of cotton fiber on the 1% concentration of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria had no inhibitory effects,but test of bacterial OD results shown that the cotton fiber has antibacterial properties when concentration of Staphylococcus aureus is 1%,when concentration of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli is 5%,the cotton fiber have no obvious bacteriostatic effect.The reasons for analysis.(4)Study on modification of oil absorbency of nettle fiber.Using alkali modification and esterification modification to improve the oil absorption of nettle.Nettle fiber of the alkali modification technology was studied and optimized by two general rotary combination.The surface morphology of the modified fiber was characterized by microscope and scanning electron microscope.The results showed that the alkali dosage and treatment time had the most significant influence on oil absorbency,followed by the ratio of solid to liquid.The optimal alkali modification process is as follows: alkali dosage 20g/L,treatment time 6h,solid-liquid ratio 1:225.Due to the etching effect of alkali on the nettle fiber,the surface of the nettle fiber can be made into pits,so as to improve the oil absorption of the nettle fibers.The oil absorbency of the modified nettle fiber was 1.5 times than before.Through the single factor experiment analysis,the main parameters of the modification of nettle fiber were determined and optimized by two general rotary combination.Functional groups of modified nettle fiber were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy.The results showed that the concentration of concentrated sulfuric acid was the most significant factor.The optimum esterification process was as follows: the modification temperature was 78,the modification time was 6.14 h and the concentration of concentrated sulfuric acid was 11%.After the modification of the fiber,the ester group of nettle fiber was engendered,therefore,the oil absorption of nettle fiber was improved.The oil absorbency of the modified nettle fiber was 1.8 times than before.Compared with the alkali modification process and the esterification modification process,the alkali modification operation is relatively simple,and the experimental conditions are relatively uncomplicated,and the oil absorption of the nettle fiber is increased after esterification treatment.So the esterification process is better than the alkali process.
