With the implementation of the tire labeling regulations and REACH regulations,green tires have become the direction of future development.As the second largest filler after carbon black,silica is widely used in rubber industry,because of its particularity,silica can impart the tire with lower rolling resistance and better wet skid resistance,but also brought a series of processing problems.How to improve the dispersion of silica in rubber matrix,the application of silica in rubber industry has become an important topic.In recent years,ionic liquids as a new type of green modifier,show good the interaction with carbon nanotubes,carbon black,clay and other inorganic fillers.In this paper,we chose styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)as the matrix,and studied the performance of different kinds of ionic liquids;optimized mixing process to improve the dispersion of silica in SBR;Looking for suitable method for silica modified with ionic liquid,to improve the interaction between silica and SBR.The effects of ionic liquids on the properties of SBR vulcanizates filled by silica were investigated.The results showed that ionic liquid improved the dispersion of silica and inhibited the formation of filler network.The interaction between silica and SBR was promoted obviously.The curing rate of SBR compound was enhanced greatly,tc10 and tc90 were shortened.The crosslink density of SBR vulcanizates increased slightly.At the same time,ionic liquids also imparted SBR vulcanizates with higher tensile strength and tear strength.BMI showed better modifying effect than that of AMI.Compared with silica dry modified with BMI,the strong hydrogen bonding interaction between BMI and silica can improve the dispersion of silica in SBR matrix,inhibit the formation of the filler network,improve the interaction between silica and SBR.At the same time,the mechanical properties and abrasion resistance of vulcanizates were superior.When silica modified with 3phr BMI,the mooney viscosity of SBR compound was decreased and the compound had better processability,at the same time,inhibiting the formation of the filler network,imparting SBR better vulcanizate mechanical properties and dynamic mechanical properties.With the extension of stored time,the mooney viscosity of SBR compounds increased gradually.Based on the same mixing time,the higher mixing temperature was beneficial to the interaction between silica and BMI,the filler network in rubber matrix was weaker,the interaction between rubber and silica was stronger,as the same time,higher mixing temperature can impart vulcanizates with better tensile strength,tear strength and reinforce coefficient and so on.However,the abrasion resistance of SBR vulcanizates decreased,at the same time,the impact of mixing temperature on the dynamic mechanical properties of the vulcanizate was not obvious.Compared with accelerator M,the ionic accelerator M-BMI can impart vulcanizates with higher crosslinking density of SBR,the use of ionic accelerator M-BMI decreased the activation energy of SBR compounds,facilitated the vulcanization reaction,decreased the energy loss in processing production and improved economic benefits,which was consistent with the results of vulcanization characteristics.Wear volume of 1 #,2 # and 3 # specimens gradually decreased,at the same time,the tensile strength,tear strength and hardness of 1 #,2 # and 3 # samples show a growth trend.
