Based on the research about resin coated sand proppant at home and abroad, considering the density, strength, wet, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and other factors of resin coated sand proppant, combining the technology problems of resin coated sand proppant existing in the application, inspiring by before researches, for the common problems that low pressure and unstable long-term diverting capacity of quartz sand and ordinary oil fracturing proppant precoated sand when used in medium and high closure pressure of formation, it was taken that the coupling agent modified quartz sand as the core, epoxy/ bismaleimide blend resin modified by surface grafted carbon nanotubes as coating layer, optimizing the pelletization technology,develop a new type of resin coated sand proppant.It is divided into four steps to complete: 1) The surface modification of quartz sand was taken to improve the connection strength between the sand and coated layer; 2) The addition of modified CNT into binary resin was taken to improve the strength of resin coated layer; 3) The chemical bonds connection between the surface of quartz sand and resin coated layer was taken to enhance the strength of precoated sand; 4) To optimize the molding process in order to obtain a good coated sand proppant which has a better sphericity and smooth surface.Through the above steps, it is obtained a new type of resin coated sand proppant, which has the following advantages: 1) High compressive strength, lower broken rate under the closure pressure of 69 MPa; 2) Good long-term diversion; 3) High sphericity and smoothness; 4)low acid solubility; 5) The strong hydrophobic properties; 6) low cost.It extends the application range of inexpensive quartz sand proppant from shallow to deep,dense layers of oil and gas wells, which greatly reduces the cost of the development of well,improves the efficiency of oil production, and has an important scientific significance and economic value.
