The effects of the parameters on the welding stress and deformation behavior are studied in Nd: YAG laser-MAG hybrid welding with welding the high strength steel of 6.5mm thick in the paper. The welding stress and deformation of laser-arc hybrid welding is simulated and analyzed by SYSWELD software. The blind hole method is used to test the residual stress of welding part, and the distribution law of welding stress and deformation and the parameters on influence of the welding stress and deformation are analyzed. The results show that the rotation assembly heat source which is built by the SYSWELD software need not calculate too much, and the result calculated is accuracy and is consistent with the test result. In the optimum process parameter, the longitudinal stress along weld direction shows tensile stress;the transverse stress along weld direction shows a first increase and then decrease with increasing welding distance;the longitudinal stress perpendicular to weld shows a first decrease and then increasing with adding distance away from the centre of weld;the transverse stress shows the decreasing with adding distance away from the centre of weld. The welding stress increases with increasing laser power and welding speed, and decreases with adding welding current. The welding deformation is mainly shrinkage deformation and angular distortion, which show the increase with adding laser power and show the decrease with increasing welding current and speed.
