Chiral ?-hydroxyphosphonates are important intermediates,Their derivatives have a variety of biological and physiological activity,such as control of hypertension,antiviral treatment,weed control function,bactericidal action,activity regulating plant growth,and playing a role of enzyme inhibition.Asymmetric hydrophosphonylation is an effective method to synthesize these compounds.The strategy of asymmetric catalysis attracts us because it is a direct and more environment way.This paper mainly introduced our research about the asymmetric hydrophosphonylation of aldehydes.Based on these attempts,a reference to develop analogous asymmetric catalytic reaction is provided.A novel Ni-PyBisulidine complex has been developed for the asymmetric hydrophosphonylation of aldehydes.A variety of aromatic,heteroaromatic,condensed-ring,?,?-unsaturated,and aliphatic aldehydes are found to be suitable substartes for the reaction,and the desired ?-hydroxy phosphonates are obtained in up to 99% yield and 97% ee.
