Titanium alloy has a series of advantages such· as excellent corrosion resistance,small density,high specific strength,good toughness and welding ability,so it has been successful applied to the aerospace,petrochemical industry,shipbuilding,automobile as well as medical departments.Parts of the structure made in titanium alloy is axial parts,therefore,high speed grinding them need to adopt cylindrical grinding.Exploring the effect law of process parameters on titanium alloy surface quality under the condition of high-speed cylindrical grinding,and finding out the methods to improve the quality of the machined surface becomes an urgent problem to be solved in the grinding of titanium alloy.In this paper,the influence rule of high speed grinding parameters(such as the speed of the grinding wheel,the rotating speed of the workpiece and the grinding depth)on the grinding temperature and surface quality of TC4 titanium alloy was studied.By conducting orthogonal test of TC4 titanium alloy high-speed cylindrical grinding,the study analyzed the effect law of high-speed cylindrical grinding process parameters on the grinding temperature,surface roughness and the influence of microstructural changes.The results of titanium alloy high-speed cylindrical grinding temperature of the orthogonal experiment are analyzed.The influence law of various parameters on grinding temperature is obtained,the reasons was also explained theoretically;In order to predict the degree of TC4 titanium alloy high-speed cylindrical grinding burn.In this paper,Based on surface hardness value change result by phase change after grinding burn,using surface hardness value to differentiate grinding burn of the workpiece,TC4 titanium alloy high-speed cylindrical grinding surface hardness value was forecasted using the scale of conjugate gradient algorithm of neural network,according to one-to-one correspondence relationship between the surface hardnessvalue and the degree of the surface of grinding burn to predict grinding burns,the validation experiment results show that the prediction effect is good.Analyzed how the grinding process parameters effect on grinding surface roughness,Based on particle swarm optimization algorithm,using surface roughness as the optimization goal to optimize grinding process parameters.Microstructure of the sub-surface of workpiece was observed,It was found that under some process parameters combination,there is an obvious deterioration on workpiece surface layer.
