Solving the filler dispersion and filler-matrix interfacial interaction are the key factors in the preparation of rubber nano-composites.Therefore,it is very important to select suitable modifiers and modification methods.In this study,polyrhodanine(PRd),a surface modifier with vulcanization activity,was used in the general inorganic fillers.By studying the polymerization kinetics of PRd in aqueous environment and further exploring two polymerization processes of solution and aqueous phase,the modification effect of inorganic filler and its application in rubber nano-composites were investigated.In this study,we first investigated the polymerization kinetics of rhodanine and studied the effects of temperature and oxidant content on the polymerization.The results show that the temperature can increase the polymerization rate,and the concentration of oxidant has a great influence on the monomer conversion.The experimental results also show that the effect of different monomer dosage,reaction solvent and oxidant on the modification of inorganic fillers and the hydrogen bonding between PRd and filler are proved.In the present study,PRD was used to modify inorganic filler,which were prepared by solution polymerization and further used in rubber composites.From the properties of the composites can be known,the addition of PRd can effectively enhance the interfacial interaction between filler and matrix.Compared with SBR,when 30 phr PRd-HNTs were added,the tensile strength and 300% modulus were increased by 8 times and 2.57 times,respectively.More significantly,with only 2.9 wt.% of PRd,the tensile strength and modulus of the composite were enhanced by 117% and 87%,respectively.For the SBR/silica-PRd composites,the effect of PRd is equal to that of silane coupling agent Si69,which is better than that of KH590.Because PRd can participate in the vulcanization process of rubber to construct a new type of filler and rubber matrix interface crosslinking structure.In this study,the more environmentally friendly water-phase polymerization of modified inorganic filler(silica-PRd)was researched,and further used in rubber composites.From the vulcanization properties and mechanical properties of the composites can be known,the dependence of PRd on the polymerization conditions is not strong,and the final optimization condition is 80?,1h under stirring.The results showed that PRd also had the effect of promoting the silanization reaction.It was found that,in the presence of 1.2 phr PRd,the 300% modulus of SBR/silica-PRd+1 phr Si69 composites were double than that of the SBR/silica+1 phr Si69 composites.In dynamic mechanical properties,the modification effect of SBR/silica-PRd + 2 phr Si69 composites is better than that of using midifiers separately,which is equivalent to that of 4 phr Si69 in industry.So the purpose of reducing the amount of silane coupling agent is reached.
