Nanomaterials have been widely used in many fields due to their unique physical and chemical properties, especially in drug delivery systems. It is of great importance to fabricate the efficient drug nanocarriers through simple and efficient approaches. In this thesis,a series of nano-drug carriers with dual thermal and redox responsive properties, including nanocapsules and nanohydrogels, were developed by the facile reflux-precipitation polymerization. The as-prepared nanospheres containing reactive alkyne groups were easily functionalized via highly efficient thiol-yne click reaction and further applied as intelligent drug nano-carriers.Firstly,the “clickable” nanocapsules with dual thermal and redox responsive properties were readily prepared by the two-step reflux-precipitation polymerization. These “clickable” nanocapsules were subsequently decorated with various functional ligands, including cysteine-folic acid,cysteine-RGD peptide and thiol-functionalized fluorescein isothiocyanate(SH-FITC).Secondly,the dual stimuli-responsive nanospheres were synthesized by one-step reflux-precipitation polymerization for dual drug delivery purpose. The influences of different experimental conditions on the nanospheres were explored. Finally, the folic acid-modified nanocapsules were employed as drug nano-carriers for doxorubicin(DOX).The good growth inhibition to HeLa cells of DOX loaded nanocapsules indicated that the nanocapsules can be employed as effective nanocarriers for drug delivery.
