Ca3Co4O9+??CCO? is one kind of 2-D misfit layer ceramic, which is widely used in the field of new energy. It's proved to have high conductivity, good catalytic activity and durability, which can be used in SOFC ?Solid Oxide Fuel Cell? and supercapacitor. SOFC and supercapacitor are clean and efficient energy transform and storage devices. SOFC can turn fuel into electricity without burning it. Supercapacitor has much high power density than traditional capacitor, and could charge / discharge fast. Now, electrode still remains a hot spot in these 2 fields. In this article, we mainly research the usage of CCO and Sr doped materials in SOFC and supercapacitor, including powder preparing, characterization and electro-chemical tests, etc.First, we prepare the powder of CCO and Sr doped materials and test them. They are obvious in the shape of scale, which is due to its 2-D misfit layer structure. Pure and Sr doped CCO has a familiar thermal expansion coefficiency with SDC, which is usually used as an inter-temperature electrolyte in SOFC. Thus the CCO cell has a high durability.Then we use the CCO|SDC|LSCM cell on double-chamber SOFC and DFSOFC. On double-chamber SOFC, after doped with 30% Sr to replace Ca, at 800?, the peak power density rises from 90.15mW cm-2 up to 228.99 mW cm-2. On DFSOFC, at 600?, the OCV of CCO|SDC|LSCM cell is 0.765V, the peak power density can reach 25.17 mW cm-2.After that, we research the usage of CCO in supercapacitor. CCO can be made into self-supporting electrode for supercapacitor, which can simplify the structure of electrode,decrease the cost, and increase the service time. The conductivity of CCO in room temper-ature is 62.12 S cm-1, under the scan rate of 10 mV s-1, the specific capacitance is 0.545 F cm-2 by surface. It can go through 20000 cycles of charge/discharge without drop of capacitance, which informs a good durability.Pore-creating can highly increase the capacitance of CCO, which increases 103.8%by weight. It's a good way to lighten the electrode and save the material. After doping,the equivalent series resistance of electrode increases, and thus the capacitance will drop.
