The rare-earth ions have unique electronic structure and rich energy levels,which make the rare-earth doped materials become an ideal luminescent materials.The luminescent material has excellent optical properties and the application prospect is very extensive.Due to their lower maximum phonon energy and stable physical and chemical properties,the fluoride matrix has become an ideal matrix for luminescent materials.The rare-earth ions doped fluoride is the most common method for the preparation of the rare-earth luminescent materials.In this laboratory,the samples of the rare-earth ions doped fluoride matrix single crystals are grown successfully by an improved fiux Bridgman method.After the samples were processed into a slice about 2mm,these slice of the sample measured XRD diffraction spectra,absorption spectra,excitation spectra,emission spectra,through these data to analyze the optical properties of crystal samples,and the optical properties of some practical applications.In the first chapter of this paper,some basic concepts of the rare-earth luminescent materials are introduced.Some basic knowledge of the rare-earth luminescent materials is given.The application of the rare-earth luminescent materials in some fields is listed.The application of the rare-earth luminescent materials in the solid ultraviolet laser and solid white-LED is introduced.The second chapter introduces the experimental process,as well as the use of the basic theoretical knowledge and instrumentation.The theoretical knowledge includes XRD diffraction spectrum,absorption spectrum,emission spectrum and fluorescence analysis method.In the third chapter to the fifth chapter,we introduce several experimental results: Ce3+ doped ?-NaYF4 single crystal,Dy3+/Eu3+co-doped ?-NaYF4 single crystal and Eu3+ doped ?-NaYF4 single crystal.In this paper,the molar ratio of the chemical composition of the sample and the crystal growth process is introduced.By understanding their optical properties to determine their value in some areas.At the end of this paper,the advantages of rare earth ion doped fluoride are summarized.At the same time,the shortcoming of the experiment are presented,and the future development is prospected.
