In the smelting process of steel,splash accidents often occur,the accident directly affects the quality of smelting and the stability of the entire production system.When the splashing phenomenon is serious,the production equipment will be damaged,resulting in huge economic losses,and even endanger the safety of operators.Therefore,it is very important to extract the characteristic information of the splash accident and to study the splash suppression technique.This paper took the smelting process of argon oxygen refining iron alloy as the object of study.Firstly,the characteristic signal of indirect splashing was obtained by using the idea of soft-sensing technique,that is the audio signal and vibration signal emitted by the furnace in the process of smelting,and then designed a collection system of splashing characteristic signal based on LabVIEW.The system successfully realized the acquisition and storage of sound signal and vibration signal.Then,wavelet packet decomposition and Hilbert Huang transform are used to extract the feature of splash information.In the process of wavelet packet decomposition,the audio signal at normal smelting and the audio signal at the time of splashing were decomposed on three and four layers.The frequency band of the characteristic information was determined and the splashing level was divided according to the energy value of the band.The two signals were decomposed by EMD method when the Hilbert-Huang transform theory was used.The Hilbert marginal spectrum of the signal is extracted,and the grade of the splash is divided according to the energy peak of the characteristic frequency band.The paper also studied the technology of suppressing splash and designed the process of the smelting process,the parameters of control system were determined,the overall scheme of the system was designed,and the three subsystems,the bottom gun,the top gun and the feeding,are constructed,then the suppressing splash was achieved by controlling the oxygen flow rate,nitrogen flow rate,the height of oxygen lance,and spray inhibitor.Finally,a set of suppressing splash DCS control system was finished,the system can not only on-line monitor the related parameters of smelting process,but also can set the value of the control parameters through touch-screen.At that time,the control system has characteristics of convenient operation,stable work,and reliability.In this paper,the splashing feature information of the smelting process was successfully extracted.The splash suppression system is effective in suppressing splashing and improving the industrial production efficiency.It also ensures the personal safety of field staff.
