It is too difficult for chemical engineers to select the most energy-saving and suitable distillation scheme for binary nonideal azeotrope from Conventional Pressure-Swing Distillation(CPSD),Multi-Effect Pressure-Swing Distillation(MEPSD),Heat Pump Pressure-Swing Distillation(HPPSD),Conventional Extraction Distillation(C ED),MultiEffect Extraction Distillation(MEED)and Heat Pump Extraction Distillation(HPED)these 6 distillation schemes.So the purpose of this paper is developing a shortcut method which helps chemical engineers make quick choice.Firstly,analyzing the energy consumption characteristic of 6 distillation schemes and deriving a shortcut calculating method of energy consumption only need product specification,?vapHm,phase equilibrium curve.In order to replace relative volatility of ideal binary and characterize energy consumption of separating binary nonideal azeotrope directly,the concept of phase equilibrium area(SQ)is come up with.Secondly,the relationship between SQ,energy consumption and Total Annual Cost is found b y analyzing six distillation schemes of Methanol-Acetone,Isopropyl Alcohol-Diisopropyl Ether,Benzene-Cyclohexane.Then the method of selecting the best distillation scheme for binary nonideal azeotrope is come up with——check the equilibrium x-y diagram,Antoine coefficient of mixture and calculate SQ,azeotrope point and boiling point temperature;make sure the column's pressure of MEPSD and MEED;calculate TAC of CPSD and C ED according to the SQ and regressive formula of ?SQ/?-TAC;check COP and ?vapHm of vapor from distillation column top;calculate energy consumption of CPSD,C ED according to the shortcut calculating method of energy consumption and regressive formula of SQ-QR;estimate the benefit of heat pump case,multi-effect case combining C OP and ?vapHm;compare TAC of 6 distillation schemes and select the best distillation scheme.Applying this method to Isopropyl Alcohol-Cyclohexane,the result shows that TAC of MEED is minimal.So MEPSD is the best distillation scheme for Isopropyl AlcoholCyclohexane.Applying this method to Methyl Acetate-Methanol,the result shows that TAC of MEED is minimal.So MEPSD is the best distillation scheme for Methyl Acetate-Methanol.The calculation results of this method are the same as ASPEN PLUS.It shows that the method this paper puts forward is workable.
