With the development of mineral processing technology,the grain size of the ore has become finer,and it is difficulty to separate the fine particle.The centrifugal separator is more and more important in the selection of fine particles because of its high separation factor,low separation limit,continuous operation,low operating cost and low environmental pollution.High speed disc separator as a important centrifugal separator,its complex working condition,many factors influencing the separation effect,in order to improve the separation efficiency,increase production capacity,promote its popularization and application.It is necessary to make a systematic study on the relationship among the operating parameters,physical parameters and structural parameters.The experimental system of high speed disc separator was set up,and the classification performance and separation performance of disc separator were studied.The results of classification experiment show that: The optimum structure parameters for the disk spacing is 5mm,the underflow nozzles diameter 2.24 mm,with increasing disk spacing,the overflow of yield continues to increase,the classification efficiency of the particle is also increasing;With the decrease of bottom nozzle diameter,overflow of yield increases,the classification efficiency decreased slightly.On the basis of the structural parameters,the operating parameters were tested.With the increase of the speed,the overflow of yield was decreased,and the classification efficiency was improved;With the increase of the throughput,the overflow of yield and the efficiency of the classification were all increased.With the increase of the concentration of the feed,the overflow of yield increased,the classification efficiency increased first and then decreased,and the peak value was 15%.Finally,the operating parameters were optimized based on the structural parameters,three factors and five levels orthogonal test was design,for the overflow of yield,the degree of influence is speed-throughput-concentration,the operating parameters were optimized for speed 600r/min,throughput 14m~3/h,feed concentration 18%,show that at low speed and high throughput,high feed concentration,the overflow of yield is higher.For classification efficiency,the degree of influence is speed-throughput-concentration,the operating parameters were optimized for speed 1400r/min,throughput 14m~3/h,feed concentration 15%.Taking into account the overflow of yield and classification efficiency,the impact of speed is larger,and the parameters should be selected in the middle speed(1000r/min),a large amount of throughput(14 m~3/h),higher concentration(15%).The linear relationship between the overflow of yield and the concentration of feed,the throughput and the speed is ? =1.659A+4.784B-0.070C+37.045;The linear relationship between classification efficiency and the concentration of feed,the throughput,the speed and the granularity is =0.701A+1.467B+0.024C-1823D+10.520,A—feed concentration(%)?B—throughput(m~3/h)?C—speed(r/min)?D—granularity(mm).To some extent,it can be used to quantitatively predict the classification effect.The results of separation experiment show that: the optimum structure parameters for the disk space is 1.5mm,the underflow nozzles diameter is 3.80 mm,with the decrease of disc space,the separation efficiency of heavy particles was also increasing.With the increase of bottom nozzle diameter,the separation interface moved to the outside of the disc,the separation efficiency decreased slightly.On the basis of the structural parameters,the operating parameters were tested.With the increase of rotating speed,the separation efficiency of heavy particles was decreased;With the increase of the treatment volume,the separation efficiency of heavy particles increased rapidly and then decreased;With the increase of feed concentration,the separation efficiency of heavy particles increased first and then decreased,and there was a peak value at 12%.Finally,the operating parameters were optimized based on the structural parameters,three factors and five levels orthogonal test was design,for separation efficiency,the degree of influence is speed-concentration-throughput,the operating parameters were optimized for speed 600r/min,throughput 12m~3/h,feed concentration 12%,show that at low speed and midium throughput,midium feed concentration,the separation efficiency is higher.The linear relationship between separation efficiency and the concentration of feed,the throughput and the speed is = 0.121A+0.416B-0.015C+28.909;A—feed concentration(%)?B—throughput(m~3/h)?C—speed(r/min).To some extent,it can be used to quantitatively predict the separation effect.The results of actual mineral verification experiment show that: The recovery of Fe was higher under low rotation speed,reaching 90.88%,with the increase of speed,the yield decreased rapidly and then decreased slowly.At the speed of 1400r/min,the yield was 82.21%,With the increase of speed,the recovery of Fe was also decreased,However,the overall level is high,which proves that the disc separator has certain separation ability.
