In this world,serious energy and environmental issues have been brought by rapid economic development.Cellulose is the most abundant and renewable biological resources in biosphere,which is an organic polymer of D-glucose linked by the ?-1,4-glycosidic bonds.Vanadium-based catalysts have excellent hydrogenation effect,and the improved V2O5 has important significance for the preparation of high value-added chemicals through the cellulose hydrogenation process.Different metal loaded V2O5 catalysts were prepared by sol-gel method,including 1wt%Pt/V2O5,1wt%Pd/V2O5,1 wt%Ru/V2O5,1 wt%CuPt/V2O5,1 wt%CuPd/V2O5 and 1wt%CuRu/V2O5.The effects of reaction temperature,time,pressure of H2 and different loadings on cellulose hydrogenation have been investigated.Besides,the process of cellulose hydrogenation was discussed.The results show that the layered and single crystal V2O5 is stacked with channels.The noble metals are well dispersed on the surface of V2O5 in the form of elemental and oxide,while copper are more likely exist in the form of CuO.The conversion of cellulose and selectivity of polyols are 99.36%and 59.21%,at optimal reaction condition of 245? and 4.0MPa H2 for 0.5h with lwt%CuRu/V2O5 catalyst,and the selectivity of EG,1,2-PDO and 1,3-PDO are 32.36%,20.33%and 5.75%,respectively.The conversion of glycerol and the selectivities of EG and 1,2-PDO were improved obviously with Cu-containing V2O5.lwt%CuRu/V2O5 showed the best catalytic activity with the 74.45%conversion of glycerol and 72.17%selectivities of polyols.The selectivities of EG,1,2-PDO and 1,3-PDO were 29.71%,30.04%and 12.42%,respectively.The process of cellulose hydrogenation with Vanadium-based catalysts is the breaking of?-1,4-glycosidic bonds to produce glucose and the further hydrolysis of it.Vanadium and noble metals conductive to break C-C bonds to produce polyols,such as glycerol and EG.
