The porcelain in Song dynasty is a classic representative of Chinese culture and it is a symbol of civilization of song dynasty with songs and paintings in song dynasty.Under the dual effects of the "neo-confucianism" and literary aesthetic interest,it presents aesthetic style of gentle,honest,subtle and insipid.The porcelain in Song dynasty as art pieces spreading thousands of years,it not only brings the aesthetic pleasure for people,but also carries the deep connotation from production process,living custom to symbolic implication and philosophy,etc.With the development of globalization,the design world today begin to tend to pursue the cultural diversity which is based on the nationalization.At the same time,in the field of modern women’s clothing design,in order to design a work that not only reflects national culture,but also conforms to the modern aesthetic,more and more visions turning to the exploration about the native culture.The porcelain in Song dynasty and modern women’s clothing belong to different art classes,but art can be borrowed from each other.This paper begin with the interpretation of history origin and aesthetic signs of the porcelain in song dynasty.Transfering,grafting and integrating the trantional cultural charm of the element of porcelain in Song dynasty into the modern women’s clothing design from the two aspects of "change of form" and "transfer of meaning"and inducing the application methods and principles of elements of the porcelain in song dynasty in the modern women’s clothing design in order to promote the application of Chinese elements in modern design,which is a meaningful exploration about the the inheritance and spread of national culture under the background of globalization of design field.
