To improve high hygroscopicity,easy to loss or separate out and other shortcomings of water-based fire retardants,this paper studied impact factors of the hygroscopicity of bamboo materials,an compound fire retardant which has little impact on the hygroscopicity and good leaching resistance was obtained.Fire retardant,smoke suppression performance and fire retardant mechanism of bamboo materials treated by fire retardants were also studied.The primary achievements are as following:(1)Ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and boric acid were selected to be compounded,bamboo materials were impregnated at atmospheric pressure,effects on the hygroscopicity of fire-retardant bamboo materials by fire retardant treatment process and the hygroscopicity of fire retardant were studied.The results showed that the hygroscopicity of fire-retardant bamboo chips increased with increasing fire-retardant concentration,drug loading rate and the hygroscopicity of fire retardant,the suitable concentration of fire-retardant and drug loading rate is 25% and 11.1%.(2)Effects of MB,DB,MAP and DAP on the hygroscopicity and dimensional stability of bamboo materials were studied.The results showed that hygroscopicity of bamboo chips treated by MAP is minimal;MAP and DAP have less effect on dimensional stability of bamboo chips.(3)Effects of MD,MB,MDS and MBS on the hygroscopicity of bamboo materials and their leaching resistance were studied,mechanism of leaching resistance was characterized by SEM and EDX.The results showed that bamboo chips treated by MBS have lower hygroscopicityand the best leaching resistance;silica sol enhance leaching resistance of the MDS and MBS.(4)Fire retardant,smoke suppression performance and fire retardant mechanism of bamboo materials treated by fire retardants were also studied by cone calorimeter,thermogravimetric analyzer and fourier transform infrared spectrometer.The results showed that fire retardant and smoke suppression performance of bamboo chips treated by two kinds of compound fire retardant are improved,fire retardant performance of MB is better,while smoke suppression performance of MB is better;MB and MBS have an association role with free hydroxyl groups of bamboo cellulose and MBS has more stronger associative effect with free hydroxyl groups.
