In nature,superhydrophobic surfaces are of plenty of usage from fundamental research to practical application such as self-cleaning,anti-fogging,oil-water separation,patterning and so on.The construction of surfaces with special wettability is inspired by a wide variety biological creatures and plants,such as lotus leaf,water strider,geckos,butterfly wings,shark skin,fish scale.The combination of micro-nano dual-scale hierarchical structures(surface roughness)and chemical components on biological surfaces is verified to be a vital factor for the realization of superwettability properties.For the past decades,fluorinated-compounds have been widely applied in superhydrophobic functionalization for their good performance but restricted for high cost and heavy pollution especially the influence on human health.In our work,short chain low-cost and environmental-friendly short silane chain without fluoride-containing group was used for fabricating superhydrophobic coating.A photoactive,transparent coating was obtained by polycondensation of trichlorovinylsilane(TCVS)on cotton fabrics and titanium plates which shows excellent superhydrophobicity.Click chemistry has been researched for decades and it has many features,being highly efficient,simple to execute with no side products and proceeding rapidly to high yield.As a kind of click chemistry,thiol-ene click reaction is most frequently photoinitiated,particularly for photopolymerizations resulting in highly uniform polymer networks.light-mediated thiol–ene radical reactions effectively combine the classical benefits of click reactions with the advantages of a photoinitiated process,which can be activated at specific times and locations,resulting in a powerful method for chemical synthesis and tailorable materials fabrication.After coating procedure,there are reactive vinyl groups which can take part in thiol-ene click chemistry and brought in other functional groups such as hydrophilic carboxylic groups.For its UV-induced property,photomask is applied in click reaction and surface patterning can be finished in very short time.Carboxylic groups modified surface can be further disposed to bring in biomolecules like peptides,proteins,antibodies for biofunctionalization.In addition,cotton metallization is also combined with surface patterning,for potential application in flexible electrode,on the other hand,deposition of silver particles on patterned titanium substrate could find application in metal particles orientation,position and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS).
