The spent nuclear fuel reprocessing has been received extensive attention all over the world.As the major fission products?FP?,lanthanides?Ln?must been highly efficient separated over actinides?An?.Pyrochemical reprocessing using molten salts is considered to be a promising technique to spend nuclear fuels,so this work use the Li Cl-KCl eutectic system.Moreover,the kinds of material,used at cathode,is significant for separate of Ln and An,so the most potential metal liquid gallium and active aluminum were used in cathod.The neutron poison of Lanthanum is a typical rare earth element in the fission products.In the present study,the electrochemical behaviors of lanthanum on a liquid gallium electrode and the influence factor of electrodeposition lanthanum onto the active aluminium electrode were comprehensive studied by employing different electrochemical methods,containing cyclic voltammograms,open circuit chronopotentiometry,potentiostatic electrolys and so on.This paper mainly focused on the investigation as follows:?1?Electrochemical properties of GaCl3 on tungsten electrode in LiCl-KCl eutectic:Cyclic voltammetry was employed to investigate the reduction processes of Ga???on inter tungsten electrode,and then obtain the apparent standard potential of the Ga???/Ga???and Ga???/Ga?O?redox couple.Open circuit chronopotentiometry was employed to investigate the intermetallic compound of Ga-Li.The deposits,obtained by galvanostatic electrolysis and characterized by XRD,contain one kind intermetallic compound of Ga-Li.?2?Electrochemical properties of lanthanum on the liquid gallium electrode in LiCl-KCl eutectic:The reduction processes of the La?????on a liquid gallium was studied by cyclic voltammetry.Galvanodynamic methods was applied on a W electrode to evaluate the apparent standard potential of La???/La couple.The activity coefficient of La?????in liquid gallium was calculated by emf.Open circuit chronopotentinmetry and potentiostatic electrolysis were employed to investigate the co-reduction processes of Ga???and La???on inter tungsten electrode,further the solubility of La in Ga was calculated.Finally,potentiostatic electrolysis was employed to deposit La on a liquid Ga electrode and the intermetallic compound LaGa6was identified by Scanning Electron Microscopy coupled with SEM-EDS and XRD characterizations.?3?Influence factor of metal electrodeposition at the active aluminium electrode in LiCl-KCl eutectic:The optimum deposit condition of lanthanum on aluminum electrode was explored by investigating the average current density and current efficiency,through changing the size or shape of aluminum electeode,the concentration of LaCl3 in LiCl-KCl eutectic and the time of electrodeposition.
