Additive Manufacturing(3D printing technology)can create any complex geometric shape of the parts,and is considered one of the core technology of the third industrial revolution for it is conducive to reducing production costs and shorten the manufacturing cycle and improve product manufacturing efficiency.Melt deposition molding technology(FDM)is the most used 3D printing technology.Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer(ABS)3D printing consumables are available as a printing material option for almost all FDM prototyping systems,and nearly 90%of the melt deposition molding model is manufactured from ABS.ABS has a high cost performance,and its comprehensive performance is between the engineering plastics and general plastic,but there are four defects:First,the strength and toughness of ABS melt-deposited molded parts is low(tensile strength is about 33?43 MPa,Charpy Notched Impact Strength is about 9?12 kJ/m2).Second,the ABS material is easy to warp and deform during printing process,which will affect the precision of printing parts.Third,ABS weathering performance is poor,easy to aging degradation fade.Fourth,ABS will have a certain smell during melt deposition process.These defects limit the extensive use of ABS 3D printing parts in production and life.Therefore,it is practical significance to develop ABS 3D printing consumables with higher strength,better toughness,low warpage,excellent anti-aging ability and low odor.Firstly,ABS/PBT alloy 3D printing consumables were prepared by melt blending ABS and polybutylene terephthalate(PBT),the tensile strength of which was equivalent to that of ABS 3D printing filament sold in the market,and the toughness remained at 70.76%of ABS filament.The melt-deposited parts of ABS/PBT alloy 3D printing consumables are higher in strength than the melt-deposited parts of the ABS material,with better surface smoothness and surface gloss.Secondly,an impact modifier MBS was added to the ABS/PBT blend system.When the fixed ABS/PBT is 70/30 and the amount of MBS is 6 phr?15 phr,the toughness and strength of 3D printing parts of the ABS/PBT/MBS filament are better than that of the ABS filament.Thirdly,the ABS/TPU 3D printing filament with good mechanical properties and low printing warping was prepared by modifying ABS.The orthogonal experiment of five factors and four levels of printing process parameters are designed.The primary and secondary factors affecting the ABS printing warpage and the optimal combination of low warpage were determined.Finally,by using ASA,which was similar to ABS in structure and performance but was ten times stronger than ABS in weather resistant,to replace ABS,ASA/PBT 3D printing consumables were prepared.The appearance and mechanical properties of the printing parts of ASA/PBT 3D printing consumables are very similar to those of ABS materials,but the anti-aging properties of ASA/PBT materials are better than those of ABS materials.
