Tower plate is the core components of the plate tower,and the overall performance of the tower plate plays a decisive role in the performance of the tower.Consequently,the development of the tray and the research on the performance of the tray have great practical significance for industrial production.In this paper,a new type three-dimensional mass transfer tray was studied,which the mass transfer elements of the tray have the same height and the openings on the tray are arranged side by side.The mass transfer elements belong to a trapezoidal-rectangle,and the two sides of the mass transfer element are provided with diversion bends on the two sides,and the bottom of the element is provided with a bottom porthole.The hydrodynamic performance of new type three-dimensional mass transfer tray was studied in a 1500mm × 450mm rectangular tower,using an air-water system.The hydrodynamic performance research includes three parts:the tray pressure drop,liquid entrainments rate and leakage rates.The hydrodynamic performance research is discussed about the effect with the change of plate-hole kinetic energy factor,liquid flow,weir height,plate spacing,opening rate,the bottom porthole of a mass transfer element.The kinetic energy factor of hydrodynamic performance research is between 5.0-17.0(kg0.5/m0.5.s),plate pressure drop is between 50-100mmH2O.Matlab software was used to correlate the experimental results of hydrodynamic performance,and a reliable correlation equation of pressure drop,entrainment rate and leakage rate was obtained.The correlation provides a certain basis for industrial applications and further research of the new type three-dimensional mass transfer tray.The experimental results show that the new type three-dimensional mass transfer tray has great Gas-liquid load capacity,excellent hydrodynamic performance.
