Compared with the water-based drilling fluids,oil-based drilling fluids have obvious advantages on lubrication,inhibition,reservoir protection,etc.But its rheology is always hard to control,which leads to incompletion of hole cleaning and low drilling speed in the drilling of extended-reach wells and complex wells.For this weakness,the study of fluid flow pattern regulator has been carried out in the laboratory.The target is to compound a new kind of flow pattern regulator used in oil-based drilling fluids which can enhance the shear force meanwhile with weaker influence on the viscosity.Thus,the improving of the rheology of the drilling fluids' hole system with better Shear thinning ability will be possible.First of all,we discussed the action mechanism of flow pattern regulator for oil based drilling fluids through systematic evaluation test and analysis of the commonly used flow pattern regulator products at domestic and foreign,and find out the mechanism that by Introducing active polar groups on the low molecular weight complex long carbon chain backbone,we can construct gel structure in system,thus can enhance the shear force meanwhile with weaker influence on the viscosity.Our study started from the designing of the molecular structure,then carried out a series of experiments to improve the resolve resolution.Finally,we determined the process,our monomerts include tall-oil acid and triethylenetetramine with a molar ratio of 1:4,and 1% addition of KOH as catalyst.The reaction should under 165? at least 6 hours in order to obtain the flow pattern regulator LXTJ-1.LXTJ-1 is evaluated in many aspects,and we find out that LXTJ-1 can ether help the organic soil to improve rheology or work alone.Just a little addition of LXTJ-1 can enhance the shear force largely meanwhile with weaker influence on the viscosity.LXTJ-1 has good capability with the system and its temperature resistance up to 150?,it can also help stabilize the emulsion,which means that LXTJ-1 can be used to Formulate Oil-based drilling fluids with low oil-water ratio.
