Abstract/Summary:
In response to the call of energy conservation and emissions reduction, natural gas is developing rapidly and the raw materials of ethylene become more and more light. In this paper, the lifecycle energy consumption and emissions of natural gas separation of ethane to ethylene will be calculated and analyzed. In this paper, the mining stage mainly adopts the GREET model for the calculation of energy consumption.HYSYS software is used to simulate the process to acquire equipment energy consumption data and the pinch analytical method is used to optimize the heat exchange network.Different exhaust emission factors are included in the calculation when assess the environmental impact for the system. From the result of this paper, energy consumption in processing stage is higher than mining stage and the heating and cooling equipment are contributed to the main energy consumption. After the pinch analysis, the saving energy can be accounted for at least 9.34% of the total energy consumption. For six kinds of exhaust emissions, this article assumes that the factory is built in the natural gas source,so the boiler fuel is used by natural gas in processing stage. From the perspective of the emissions, mining stage is much higher than processing stage. After energy conservation, emissions of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide decrease significantly, while other containing gases show little change. For reducing emissions, companies not only need to optimize the heat exchange network and reduce unnecessary boilers, but also need to pay attention to the adjustment of energy structure and use clean energy as possible.
