In recent years,competition is increasingly fierce in the smartphone market.Under the same quality and performance,a specious cellphone can attract more attention of consumers.In the traditional processing methods,milling,grinding and polishing is essential and need more time and cost.To improve the machining efficiency and quality,surface turning method is proposed to process cellphone back-face.So,this dissertation will do research for path generation algorithm about surface turning,which is based on the specialty of cellphone back-face.According to the requirements of surface turning processing,an off-line interpolation algorithm for the turning path of cellphone back-face,which contains the constraint of speed,is proposed.By analyzing the geometric meaning of helix equation that is the driver of path,researching the discrete algorithm of helix equation based on the constraint of constant linear speed,constant rotating speed,acceleration and deceleration.Specially,the acceleration and deceleration controlling adopts a simplified velocity planning algorithm.It not only has similar characteristics with “S-shape acceleration and deceleration algorithm”,but also is more simple and easy to implement.In conventional end-face turning,the projection of cutting area in the plane perpendicular to the rotation axis are commonly round area,but the cellphone back-face is a rectangle with fillet.So,there are some path lacking model constraints in the helix turning processing.In order to normal cutting,curve-bridge technology is used to plan owing constraint path,which can ensure the cutting stability of close edges.According to the principle of path planning in the general CAM software,firstly,calculating cutter contact with projection algorithm based on driving geometric.Then,cutter model which is used to research cutter radius compensation algorithm is set up;This algorithm can avoid slashing the generating efficiency of interpolation path point.Finally,completing the path planning on the basis of the above research,and smoothing the path by using gauss filter method.Based on the above research,an automatic programming software which can plan the turning path of cellphone back-face is developed,and it was verified by simulation.
