Reservoir architecture is the late in the development of important content of fine reservoir description,in the actual production of residual oil in developed a guiding role.Littoral facies reservoir is one of the main types of marine sandstone reservoirs in China,analyzing the internal structure of littoral facies reservoir,reveal the distribution rule of remaining oil forming mechanism and is of great significance.In this paper the East River sandstone of carboniferous series in Hade 4 oilfield as an example,Considering the influence of deposition,stratum,lithology and other factors,the paper comprehensively applies previous research methods and theory for configuration to discuss the configuration characteristic of the littoral-facies reservoir,established the configuration mode of the East River sandstone,proposed a set of research method of configuration for the East River sandstone,and summed up the littoral-facies reservoir's configuration control of the remaining oil.After checking and studying the high resolution sequence stratigraphy of the East River sandstones in the Hudson region,the East River sandstone strata is divided into one sequence(one parasequence sets),two parasequence,twelve layer groups,and forty-nine layers.The East River sandstones in the Hudson region have the characteristics of top cutting and downlap.It means that the East River sandstones overlap the Silurian strata below and are eroded by overlying strata(conglomerate layer)at the top.Based on achievements of the predecessors for configuration and the geologic data of the research area,the East River sandstone is defined as barrier-free control of sandy shore deposition through observing the core sample and scouting in the region of interest,and its deposition facies model which consists of four sub-phase and twelve microfacies is established.After research on reservoir architecture in the study area,the scheme for dividing the architecture interface in shore facies reservoir is established for the East River sandstones.The research is mainly on 2nd~4th interface as the interfaces in the East River sandstones are mostly 1st~6th.The characteristics of the architecture elements in shore facies reservoir are analyzed and the architecture model in the East River sandstone reservoir is summarized.Based on the study on reservoir architecture,the physics experiment model of parallel reservoir architecture and groove reservoir architecture is designed.The physical process of water flooding is simulated.The influence of reservoir architecture to the remaining oil distribution is analyzed and the distribution patterns of the remaining oil are summarized.
