Al-Si alloy is the engine piston commonly used materials,ZL109 is widely used in the actual production.However,with the upgrading of emission standards,ZL109 has been difficult to continue to improve the mechanical properties.Therefore,this paper is optimized on the basis of ZL109.The B-type aluminum alloy of piston is prepared by adding Cu,Ni and RE in the smelting process.The piston body is sampled and compared with ZL109 to study its microstructure,Friction and wear properties.The main findings are as follows:?1?B-type aluminum alloy mechanical performance is better than ZL109,two materials by the piston bore size specifications less affected.ZL109 consists of Al,Si,Al6Mn and Al5FeNi phases,and the B-type aluminum alloy consists of Al,Si,Al6Mn,Al2Cu,Al1.9CuMg4.1Si3.3?Q phase?,AlNiCu and more Al5FeNi;Aluminum alloy in the?-iron phase showed fish bones and lumps,reducing the ZL109 tissue needle?iron relative to the matrix of the split,La and Ce elements of the AlNiCu phase can play a barrier to grain boundary sliding and hinder the matrix And the Al2Cu,Al5FeNi and Al1.9Cu Mg4.1Si3.3 strengthening phases were also formed in the microstructure.?2?The type of fracture of B-type aluminum alloy is the same as that of ZL109.Both kinds of aluminum alloys are quasi-cleavage fracture,eccentric silicon particles with irregular creep and creep direction.The fracture surface is dimple,tongue pattern and tearing edge;?3?B-type aluminum alloy hardness is higher,wear resistance is better than ZL109,the organization of Al2Cu and other strengthening phase in the experimental process played a role in hardening,so B-type aluminum alloy wear rate is low.But these enhanced phases constitute a lot of tiny bumps and silicon nitride ball contact,in the experimental process to show a greater coefficient of friction.While the ZL109 hardness and strengthening less,the surface of small bumps in the experimental process was squeezed deformation,making the contact area increases,the friction coefficient is low.At high temperatures,the wear and friction coefficients of the two aluminum alloys are higher than room temperature,because the Al2O3 particles cause the plowing effect to deepen,and the wear surface appears more peeling and grinding.?4?Two kinds of aluminum alloy at room temperature and high temperature wear mechanism are abrasive wear,there are obvious abrasive scratches.The depth of the scratches at high temperatures increases.While the piston in the engine running state,after 90 min after the B-type aluminum alloy piston surface wear and ZL109 piston compared to a slight.
