High-energy-density cage hydrocarbon compound is a very important fuel which is applying in the field of aeronautics and astronautics.These compounds have high density and calorific value.Because the volume of the fuel that aircraft can carry is limited,so fuel compounds that aircraft carry need the higher density and more heat of combustion.Now this kind of compounds has become an important and indispensable fuel for aerospace field.This paper focuses on the modified synthesis of pentacyclo[5.4.0.02,6.03,10.05,9]undeeane-8,11-diones and its derivatives.The main results as follows:At first,pentacyclo[5.4.0.02,6.03,10.05,9]undeeane-8,11-diones was synthesized by two steps of cycloaddition reactions of p-benzoquinone and cyclopentadiene.pentacyclo[5.4.0.02,6.03,10.05,9]undeeane?PCU?was then obtained by reduction reaction.Taking thought of common solvent used it two steps,one-pot procedure for the product of PCU was designed and the optimized conditions were studied.In order to avoid the dangerous of the preparation of PCU by external type UV-right cycloaddication,a new,efficient,and built-in UV heating device was desiged and the yield of PCU was improved.Based on above results,a series of PCU derivatives were studied,and their structures were characterized by IR,MS,NMR,etc.
