In order to investigate the effect of styrene butadiene rubber?SBR?on the properties of asphalt,the Liaohe 90#asphalt were modified by SBR.The effects of different amounts of SBR on the physical properties,storage stability,aging res istance and four components of asphalt were investigated,respectively.The experimental results show that the ductility of asphalt can be improved greatly by adding SBR into the base asphalt,and the lifting rang of the softening point is smaller,which indicates that the effect of SBR on the low temperature performance of asphalt is obvious.High content of SBR will make the modified asphalt modifier segregation phenomenon.SBR has a certain effect on the aging resistance of asphalt,and with the increase of the content of modifier,the improvement effect is gradually increased.SBR makes the chemical components of the asphalt to be restructured,which results in the change of the structure of the asphalt colloid,which makes the performance of the asphalt change.According to the results of comprehensive experiments,it was found that the 4%modified SBR had the best effect on asphalt modification.In order to make up for the deficiencies of SBR modified asphalt,theSBR/S compound modified asphalt was prepared.The effects of different amounts of sulfur on the physical properties,storage stability,aging resistance and four components of SBR modified asphalt were investigated,respectively.The modification mechanism of SBR/S composite modified asphalt was studied by IR and TG.The experimental results show that the amine compounds in the asphalt promote the occurrence of SBR vulcanization crosslinking reaction,which leads to the formation of a new network structure of SBR.The structure affects the colloidal structure of asphalt,so that the high temperature performance and thermal stability are improved.However,the low temperature performance,storage stability and anti-aging performance are decreased with the increase of crosslinking dens ity.In order to make up for the deficiencies of SBR/S composite modified asphalt,a new kind of SBR composite modified asphalt was prepared by adding C9 petroleum res in,sulfur and SBR into the base asphalt.The effects of C9 petroleum res in,sulfur and SBR on the physical properties and rheological properties of base asphalt were investigated by routine physical experiment and dynamic shear rheological test?DSR?.The results show that the high temperature properties and rheological properties of SBR/S composite modified asphalt are improved by adding proper amount of C9petroleum res in.It was found that the proper amount of C9 petroleum res in could improve the aging performance of SBR/S composite modified asphalt by bending beam test?BBR?.The modification mechanism of new type SBR composite modified asphalt was investigated by means of infrared spectroscopy?IR?,thermogravimetric analysis?TG?and scanning electron microscopy?SEM?.The experimental results show that the C9 petroleum resin reacted with SBR under the action of sulfur to form a more stable and more flexible network structure with good compatibility with the base asphalt.
