In this paper,the illite had better affinity to organic compounds which used modifier modified.The modified illite disperse evenly in rubber which is of great significance to the comprehensive utilization of composite materials.In this work,the treatment of illite with dilute hydrochloric acid at different concentrations was used which resulted in more-OH and better hydrophilicity.And also the adsorption ability of illite to cations was strengthened.Hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium Bromide(CTAB)was loaded on the surface of illite in the form of coordination bond by microwave reactor.The products were characterized by IR,TG,XRD and SEM.The effect of modified illite on the properties of natural rubber(NR)was studied in the form of doping and blending.The characterization results showed that the CTAB was the most effective for the treatment of the unmodified illite when the molar concentration of 1% HCl was used;The mixed rubber's Mooney viscosity and crosslink density increased with the increased of illite content,vulcanization rate decreased slightly with the increased of illite content,25.51 Mpa tensile strength of the blend was the best when added 10% modified illite.In tear strength data show that network structure of illite and rubber matrix formed strong,natural rubber filled modified acid-illite was higher than illite,show better tearing strength and high tensile strength.In this paper,washed or acid-treated was used to pretreat illite which can react better with the silence coupling agent.The effect of modified illite on the properties of natural rubber(NR)was studied in the form of doping and blending.The results was measured by infrared spectroscopy,thermogravimetry,X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy,it showed that illite was difficult to be modified by silence coupling agent.After two times of washed,the reaction amount of illite and silane coupling agent reached 8%,acid-treated also had positive effected on the reaction.The vulcanization rate decreased slightly with the increased of illite content.The tensile strength of the vulcanizate reached the maximum at 27.76 MPa when 10% modified illite was added.In this paper,the pretreatment of illite by calcination method is carried out.The XRD spectrum showed that the interlayer spacing of illite was larger.The calcined illite modified by CTAB was characterized by thermogravimetric curve.The results showed that the CTAB modified illite was not conducive to calcination.The solution method was prepared by modified illite and natural rubber composite materials in this paper,by means of mechanical characterization,the results indicated that the poor mechanical properties of the composites prepared by this method,the modified illite was not well dispersed in rubber matrix.
