Traditional noble metals(Au,Ag)are widely used in plasma and optical metamaterial devices because of their low resistance and high conductivity.However,when Au and Ag work in the optical band,the interband and intraband losses brought by the Au and Ag are enormous,which undoubtedly increases the difficulty of applying the metamaterial device to the actual application.In addition,as a stable noble metal,the processing of Au and Ag is also a problem to be faced in the practical use of the metamaterial device,But as a new plasmonic material,titanium nitride doesn't produce high losses as Au or Ag.Papers have shown that titanium nitride can exhibit metalloidity in the optical band.From the aspects of processing cost,optical properties and other aspects,titanium nitride can be used as a substitute for traditional noble metals in practical optical absorption structures.In this paper,the purpose of titanium nitride applied to optical metamaterial absorber is to study the preparation process of titanium nitride thin film.The absorbing properties of absorber based on titanium nitride are simulated by COMSOL Multiphysics software and the traditional inertness is considered.The optical properties of noble metals and titanium nitride were compared in the optical band,confirming the feasibility of titanium nitride replacing traditional noble metals,and absorbers based on titanium nitride of several different structures were designed.By adjusting the structural parameters,the optical absorption characteristics exhibited by several different structural absorbers based on titanium nitride were studied.Through the simulation of the electric field distribution diagram in the metamaterial absorber,the absorbing mechanism of the titanium oxide-based optical absorber is analyzed.The optical absorption characteristics are due to the surface plasmon resonance in the structure,which greatly reduces the reflected light.Compared to traditional inert metals,titanium nitride has optical properties similar to gold and silver in the optical wavelength band,and even in some aspects is superior;by adjusting the structural parameters of the metamaterial based on titanium nitride,the absorption of metamaterial can be controlled in the optical band.
