Catalytic reactions in the chemical industry has an extremely important position, and most of the current chemical process is the use of metal catalysts.Metal catalysts exist limited storage, difficult to reproduce, easy to poison, expensive, polluting the environment, and other shortcomings, which are limited in its further expansion of the chemical process. In recent years, since carbon-catalyzed materials are considered to be sustainable and low-cost,they are constantly emerging.Grapheme oxide(GO)is one of the materials that play a prominent role, and is becoming a new type of carbon catalytic material.GO and its derivatives can also be used as catalysts in organic reactions, and have green and sustainable prospects for catalysis.Halogenation of aromatic compounds is an important reaction in the synthesis of organic chemistry. It not only can be used as an important part of the preparation of organic metal reagents, but also the substrate of a variety of cross-coupling reaction. In addition, halogenated aromatic compounds have a variety of uses in the pharmaceutical, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries. The C-S bond is the basis of organic synthesis, and its formation is a key step in the synthesis of many important molecular and functional materials.Among them, thioindole has important therapeutic value because they have a broad spectrum of biological and pharmaceutical activity. Therefore, halogenated aromatic compounds and synthetic thioindole compounds are one of the important areas of its research.Based on this, this paper describes the halogenation and thiolation of the synthesis method, the method has a simple green environmental characteristics. This article has three aspects:In the first chapter : focuses on the latest developments in the use of carbon catalytic materials and GO and its derivatives in catalysis. And discuss the types of reactions that these materials can catalyze,as well as the prospects for green and sustainable catalysis. In addition, the research status of halogenated aromatic compounds and thioindole compounds is also introduced. In the second chapter, with bromine and iodoethane as raw materials, aniline and phenolic compounds were brominated and iodized to obtain brominated and iodinated products by using GO as catalyst, and they had high regional selectivity,of the products were Monohalo compound basically. In the third chapter, the thioindole derivative were synthesized from thiol by using indoline and its derivatives as raw materials and GO as catalyst. In addition, this method was applied to the reaction of indole compounds with thiophenols, and the target product was successfully obtained.
