In order to solve the problem of stockpiling red mud, that is a kind of industrial waste, this thesis mainly used red mud as a new soil hardening agent to solidify the loess,so the problem of polluting environment can be solved and the purpose of recycling industrial waste can be achieved. To achieve this research,a permeability test was made to see how the coefficient K of permeability of every sample react. Those technical indicators were used to analyze the strength and permeability of red mud curing copper ion of contaminated soil.In this thesis different amounts of red mud, cement and copper were selected to solidify the loess. The influence of red mud and the copper on the permeability coefficient K of cemented soil was analyzed by establishing the relationship between incorporation of red mud, osmotic pressure, curing time and cement-soil permeability coefficient K.After a series of systematic analysis,we will see according to the results how each component behaves.(1)Studying the relationship between permeability coefficient k and the osmotic pressure P under different couple of ratios under the curing ages. The permeability coefficient k varies with osmotic pressure under these ratios. This is because the structure of the specimen after curing has been formed. When the osmotic pressure P is small,so we want to analyze how the samples react on each osmotic pressure P.When the pressure increases, the permeability coefficient will increase, the osmotic pressure continues to increase, and the permeability coefficient tends to be stable and basically has no change.(2)Studying the relationship between the permeability coefficient of different ratios and the curing age under different osmotic pressures P.this analysis will be studied using two curing ages which are 7 days and 28 days. The results of this analysis will show us how the samples react according to the curing ages.At every osmotic pressure we observe that all the curves have taken the same trend.Thereafter we will study the behavior of the diagrams between the coefficient of permeability k and the curing age but this time at each osmotic pressure according to the ratios.(3)Studying the relationship between the permeability coefficient k and red mud content in different curing age and copper content under different contents. This is one of the main parts of our research. We have added some quantities of red mud under others quantities of copper but this part we will just study the relationship between k and red mud C.the main reason of this analysis is to see how the permeability of the sample is going under some specific quantities of red mud. When the content of red mud continues to increase, the density of samples decreases, and the coefficient of permeability k increases.(4)Studying the relationship between the permeability coefficient and copper ion content under different curing ages for all ratios on every osmotic pressure. This analysis is quite important because we need to see how the graph of the permeability coefficient in relation with the copper once added to the sample according to different percentage. With the increase of copper ion content, the effect of copper ions on the sample is better, and the permeability coefficient is reduced.
