With the development of technology and natural resources decreasing,more and more polypropylenes?PP?have been used to industrial production and our life.The PP possesses excellent mechanical properties,electrical insulation properties,corrosion resistances,and outstanding plasticity.However,polypropylene is fragile under low temperate.So,in order to promote their comprehensive performances,make PP was widely used in various fields,it can be modified by filling nanoparticles and fiber products.In this study,nano-Sb2O3/BEO-PP,Sb2O3/BEO-PP and Sb2O3/CFs/BEO-PP composites were prepared by ball milling and melt blending.The tensile and impact properties of the composites were also tested.The surface morphology of the tensile and impact fracture surfaces was obtained by scanning electron microscope?SEM?and was used to study the toughening mechanism of nano-particles and CFs to PP.The crystallization properties of nano-Sb2O3/BEO-PP,Sb2O3/CFs/PP and Sb2O3/CFs/BEO-PP composites were investigated by XRD and DSC.Finally,the effects of crystallization properties on the mechanical properties were discussed and the results as follows:1.Nano Sb2O3 has been successfully modified by KH550,when nano-Sb2O3 particles was added to the PP matrix,the dispersion of nanoparticles in the PP matrix and the interfacial compatibility between the nanoparticles and the matrix have been significantly improved.2.Nano Sb2O3 has different effects on the mechanical properties of Sb2O3/BEO-PP composites with different mass fraction.With the increase of Sb2O3 particle content,the mechanical properties of Sb2O3/BEO-PP composites are gradually enhanced,and the mechanical properties of nano Sb2O3/BEO-PP composites are gradually reduced after the nano Sb2O3 mass fraction exceeds 2%;meanwhile,nano Sb2O3 is in PP.As the heterogeneous nucleation point in the matrix,the crystallinity of the PP matrix can be improved and the grain refined.The mechanical properties of3.CFs/BEO-PP composites reach the maximum when the mass fraction of CFs is 4%,and the tensile strength and Young's modulus are all greatly improved,which shows that CFs has a good toughening and strengthening effect on the PP matrix.4.Sb2O3/CFs/BEO-PP composites reach the maximum when the mass fraction of Sb2O3is 2%and CFs is 4%,respectively.At this time,the composite has the best toughness,and the impact strength of the Sb2O3/CFs/BEO-PP composite material reaches the maximum when the mass fraction of Sb2O3 is 3%and the CFs mass fraction is 4%,the strength is the best of composite material at this time.
