Galatea magnetic controlled device is a small size configuration for studyingmagnetic controlled fusion, which feature is the current-carrying conductors usedfor producing high magnetic field are immersed with plasma, these current-carryingconductors are called myxines. Compared to other magnetic controlled device,Galatea has a smaller size, simpler construction, better controlled and can suppressplasma convection instabilities. This type of device was first proposed by scientistfrom former Soviet Union, and was studied by Russia domestic scientist. Up to now,nobody was doing research on it. The objection of this paper is Galateaconfiguration with three myxines, which was called Trimyx. By theoretical analysisand mathematical calculation, the electromagnetic field in Galatea are discussed.The plasma motion picture in the guide and trap is illustrated. The effect of mirrorfield to the plasma guide and magnetic field to the trap is discussed.First, all the components of Galatea Trimyx were introduced, as well as theplasma operation parameters in laboratory condition and their work principle; threedescription models in plasma physics were discussed, the advantages anddisadvantages of these description and condition of acceptability were also given.The magnetic field configuration in plasma guide and magnetic trap of GalateaTrimyx is analyzed. The plasma guide can be simplified after analyzing themagnetic field distribution of single current-carrying coil. The distribution ofmagnetic field in plasma guide can be divided into two categories. The magneticfield in plasma trap is given under current parameter conditions. The plasma motionin plasma guide and trap was analyzed.The effect of mirror magnetic field to the particle motion in the plasma guide isdiscussed. This process is taken when the plasma is descripted by single particlemotion model. The effect of magnetic mirror ratio to the particle motion in theplasma guide is discussed. When the magnetic field gradient exist, the plasmamotion and drift velocity is discussed, especially the effect of magnetic fieldgradient to the plasma diffusion coefficient. At last, the myxines parameters areoptimized based on all the above research.
