The structural seismic test plays an important role in the field of StructuralEngineering and Earthquake Engineering. As animportantbranch of seismic test methods, hybrid testingpossesses obvious advantagescompared with the other methods. It combines physical experimentand numerical simulation, and utilizes a static loading model and hence the requirement to loading system can be greatly reduced,which means thatspecimen can be large.Nowadays, the development of Internet technology has brought a new branchof hybrid testing—distributed hybrid testing.Distributed hybrid testing brings the structural laboratories which distribute in different places together through Internet, forming a?networked laboratory?.In this way, it is possible to conduct tests on structures whichcan't be tested in a single laboratory;meanwhile, investment in test equipment can be saved a lot of money.In order to advance research and application of hybrid testing method, the research group of professor Wu Bin from Harbin Institute of Technology are developing a hybrid testing platform—HyTest. Based on the latestversion of HyTest, This thesis is devoted to developing new module&function for HyTest. The main researchcontentsand achievements are summarized as followings:?1?Development of MTS communication module for HyTest:Using VB software interface providedby MTS, a communication module between HyTest platform and MTS controller systemisdevelopedwithin Visual Basic6.0environment. The communication module has several functions, such as simulation for specimen, saving parameters, reading parameters and data output.Theeffectiveness of thismodule is verified through hybrid testingon asingle-storey single-span steel frame structure.?2?Development of distributed hybrid test function forHyTest:In order to solve the network communication problem, a communication framework based on transit server is developed in HyTestusing C++network programming. The related interface of HyTest is improved and finally the function of distributed hybrid testing for HyTest is achieved.?3?Hybrid simulationsof6-storey5-span steel structure based on HyTest: A series of hybrid simulations are carried out based on a6-storey5-span steel structurewith a3degrees-of-freedom coloumn as the specimen. Theeffectiveness of the MTS communication moduleand distributed hybrid test framework in HyTest are verified by analyzing theresults of time-history resultsprovided byand HyTest.The feasibility of distributed hybrid test based on cloud server and the stability of HyTest are verified byexamining the network speed and the consumed time of HyTest, under the different network conditions.
