Polyurethane Fly Ash (PUFA) is a new type of environmental friendly material, with quality of high strength, light weight, easy to construct, and many otheradvantages. It can be bond with the surface of concrete automatically without anyother interface adhesive materials, which overcome the needs of other bondingmaterials. Though literature review, the article briefly introduced the method ofseismic reinforcement of bridge piers research both at home and abroad, figuring outthe advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of consolidation materials used torepair reinforcement concrete structure. In this paper, according to the ductilitydesign method, the PUFA is bonded to the surface of the existing reinforcedconcrete bridge pier to improve the aseismic capability of bridge pier. Throughexperiments and numerical simulation analysis, the article will evaluate and analyzethe seismic resistance of PUFA.In this thesis, seven columns are wrapped with four kinds of different thicknessof PUFA layers and are loaded with three kinds of different axial compression ratios.By the advanced material test system loading equipment?the columns are testedunder pseudo-static test according to the Specification of Testing Methods forEarthquake Resistant Building. The test data shows that the thickness of PUFA layerand axial compression ratio have great influences on the column's ultimate bearingcapacity, ultimate deformation, energy dissipation, stiffness degeneration, ductilitycoefficient and failure patterns. Thus some rules for the hysteretic curve andskeleton curves which are influenced by these two parameters are abstained.Based on above, the models monitoring the pseudo-static test of columns areperformed by the finite element software OPENSEES (Open System for EarthquakeEngineering Simulation). Compared the monitoring statistic and test statistic, theactual high computing model are improved. Then the finite element method thatsolve the similar problems will be suggested, which is applied to the analyzing withvariable parameters and improving the experiment data. With the experimental dataand extra data supplied by finite element analysis, a new way of calculation methodbased on ductility will be suggested.
