As the basic control unit of electric power system, excitation system plays animportant role in improving the reliability and stability of power system. The mosteconomic measure to actualize stability of power system is advancing theperformance of excitation system. Excitation system based on microprocessors solvesthis problem perfectly. The self shunt excitation system has been used more and morewidely in our country because of its simple structure, convenient maintenance.Based on the Chentang thermal power#8,#9machine excitation system design,device selection and the parameter tuning of the practice, the software design of thedigital excitation regulator is composed of hardware and control function are studied.Combined with the Tianjin Chentang thermal power#8,#9machine on site staticexcitation system main circuit of the actual situation, study and formulate theexcitation transformer, thyristor rectifier device, magnetic circuit breaker, nonlinearresistance device, rotor over voltage protection device and the excitation system lossand other aspects of the setting calculation principle, gives a detailed, accurateparameter setting calculation results. On this basis, analyses and discusses thesuperiority of turbo generator static self shunt excitation system and pay attention toin the design, selection should question the.Based on the main circuit of the tuning parameters, during the use of TianjinChentang thermal power#8,#9unit overhaul and grid generation, the excitationsystem is including manual, automatic two ways of de excitation, the step response,zero pressure test, also the excitation system test, PSS test, integration of. Therecorded waveform and test data in the testing process in detail, the test results showthat: this work optimized the generator excitation system parameters set, improve theability of the stable operation of the unit.
