Vehicle ad-hoc networks(VANETs) have the following characteristics: node's high-speed mobility, complexity of network topology, node moves followed the rules of road traffic restrictions and irregular movement of pedestrian and non-motorized vehicle restrictions factors. Those make VANETs experiments more difficult, make the verify difficult in real situations. So, the verifying research results depend on simulation in VANETs.VANETs simulation includes both the traffic simulation and the network simulation, While nodes mobility model for traffic simulation is very important. The traffic simulation can provide real and effective vehicle simulation scenarios, and the network simulation can provide communication protocols and performance analysis of the Protocol, these two aspects of technological development are already mature, but there are many problems when combining them and used for VANETs applications of simulation, this paper will focus on research how to combine mobility model, traffic simulation and network simulation. In this paper, OMNeT++ is chosen as the network simulation, and SUMO is used as the traffic simulation to generate real traffic data, then selected vehicle mobility model and combining the VANETs route protocol run the simulation, collect the log data, and analyze the results. The innovation points of this paper is to use the traffic simulation generate real-time traffic data, combined with map generate VANETs simulation scene, combined the middleware technology record the simulation data, and complete the performance analysis of the protocol. Through the experiment of simulation is proved that our methods of this paper is effective and correct.
