With the development of the petrochemical industry and improvement of environmental requirements,the number of high-rising equipment such as towers and chimneys increase notably.As a result,accidents happen frequently under wind-induced vibration.A lot of money needs to be put in to reduce the vibration of such equipments by traditional measures,but the vibration reduction effect is difficult to be guaranteed.A simple and effective method by using TMD(Tuned Mass Damper)vibration-absorbing devices can be used to control vibration.Currently,some problems still exist in the control of high-rising equipment under wind-induced vibration controlled by the TMD vibration-absorbing device.For example,design commands of the device and factors that influencing the performance are not clear.Therefore,the detail study on its performance of the TMD vibration-absorbing device applying to the high-rising equipment is very important significance.Simulated experiments are carried out,and the TMD vibration-absorbing device with wire rope isolators is mainly studied.The performance of three vibration-absorbing devices are compared and analyzed.The research results can be some basis for design the TMD vibration-absorbing.The main contents and conclusions of the research are as follows:(1)According to the practical structure of towers and chimneys and other high rising equipment,a TMD experimental device is designed,including a model of high-rising equipment and a model of the TMD vibration-absorbing device with wire rope isolators.The vibration-absorbing tests are carried out on this TMD experimental device.The results show that performance of the TMD device with wire rope isolator is very good,when the wire rope isolators are in the pre-compressed state.Performance of the TMD keeps good in pre-compression of the wire rope isolators,while the performance decreases in pre-tension of the isolators.When isolators are in the allowable range of compression,the greater the excitation is,and the better the performance is.(2)The performances with single annular water tank and the combined device including annular water tank and wire rope isolator are compared.The results show that both devices have a certain damping effect,but poorer than the TMD vibration-absorbing device with wire rope isolators.(3)Combination of equivalent dynamic stiffness and equivalent damping ratio are used to characterize the nonlinear characteristics of the wire rope isolator.The test device is simulated by ANSYS finite element software,simulation and experimental results agree well,and the greater the excitation is,and the closer the results are,so this method has an application value on engineering.According to the results of tests and simulation,when the TMD vibration-absorbing device with wire rope isolators is used to control the high-rising equipments under wind-induced vibration,it is very important that the wire rope isolator must be in a pre-compressed state before working and it vibrates sufficiently within the range of deformation.
