This issue stems from the using of locomotive maintenance. Wheel/rail wear is important project in wheel/rail relations. Reducing the wheel/rail wear is one of the key technologies of overloaded railway development. Wheel flanges of Harmony series electric locomotive exists abnormal wear, affecting the quality of locomotive and railway transportation safety.This paper through the research HXD1B, HXD2B and HXD3 locomotives bogie structure, run line condition, wheel flange wear data of SHANGHAI LOCOMOTIVES DEPOT. Got the three kinds of main parameters of locomotive bogie, the curve using lines and five kinds of abnormal flange wear phenomenon. five kinds of abnormal flange wear phenomenon is different axle uneven wheel flanges wear,the same axle wheel flanges partial wear, on the same side of the Bogie wheel flanges partial wear, before and after the bogie diagonal partial wear and on the Different side of the Bogie wheel flanges partial wear. Different axle uneven wheel flanges wear mainly for wheel flange wear of middle axle is bigger than the wheel flange wear of end axle. The paper focuses on analyzing causes Different axle uneven wheel flanges wear. Analysts say the main factor of Different axle uneven wheel flanges wear is that the middle axle free lateral play.This article also HXD2B locomotive dynamics model is established with the help of the SIMPACK software, simulation analysis was carried out on Different axle uneven wheel flanges wear, further calculate the middle axle free lateral displacement too much is the reason of middle axle wheel flange wear quantity is greater than end axle wheel flange wear quantity?...
