In recent years, with the accelerating development process of the high-speed electrification railway, the main mode of power supply is gradually transformed from the direct power supply and BT(Booster Transformer) power supply to AT(Auto Transformer)power supply, the AT power supply is widely used because of many advantages,such as, the longer power supply section and the higher stability than other modes, however, what followed those advantages is the frequently fault and more complex structure of the traction network. It has great significance to ensure the railway safety and the improvement of economic benefits of the precise fault location, therefore, a new method of fault location for the precise fault positioning problem of the AT power supply mode is put forward in the paper, and the article aims to improve the precision of fault location and shorten the fault positioning time so as to meet the application demand of the high-speed locomotives.First of all, the power supply method of traction network and the fault location method of contact system widely used now is introduced, the calculation method of time delay of wave head and so on are analyzed, the fault location method of traction network used AT power supply based on the energy ratio method is put forward, besides, the simulation model of the mode of the AT power supply traction network is provided and so it is with the simulation platform.The main content of the paper consists of two aspects: the establishment of the model of AT power supply traction network and the design of fault location method based on energy ratio method. Firstly, the equivalent parameters used during the model establishment according to the field data are calculated, and then the simulation mode of AT power supply traction network is set up; Secondly, the energy ratio is used to calculate the time delay of wave head, which is based on the existing fault location method, then the fault location method of AT power supply traction network based the energy ratio method is put forward.Finally, the subject research content is simulated and verified in the paper, and the simulation result analysis and comparative evaluation are provided on the MATLAB platform, which lay the foundation for the following deeply study and exploration.
