Recently,frequent earthquakes resulting mountain rockfall and other secondary natural disasters caused impact damage to building structure seriously.Previous research on FRP reinforced structures under static loading can not solve current problem of dynamic load accurately and not satisfy demand of existing engineering and update of design theory. In this paper, Based on comprehensive of research on FRP reinforcement,impact resistance behavior of RC beam strengthened with externally bonded AFRP sheet was analyzed.A total of 11 test beams were maked according to the experimental program,of which three were not reinforced,as comparison beams,four were reinforced using A415,four were reinforced using A830.First,ultimate carrying capacity and reinforced yield loads were researched through the analysis on load-deflection?AFRP stress-strain of three kinds of trial beams under static loading and compared the damage morphology.Tests showed that compared with non-reinforced beams,ultimate carrying capacity and reinforcement yield loads of reinforced beams were significantly improved and damage morphology of reinforced beams were different to others.The non-reinforced beams had bending fracture phenomenon in the loading point and cracks concentrated distribution in the middle of span,Reinforced beams exhibited good bending deformation because of having high bending elasticity and cracks distributed evenly in the pure bending section.Afterward,the impact resistance performance of test beams at different impact heights was research by analyzing the loading variables ? deflection ? plastic deformation?AFRP stress-strain and damage morphology under impact loading.Damage morphology and crack distribution of the beams was analyzed and obtain correlation between damage morphology and impact height?AFRP type.The impact damage mechanism and impact resistance factors were finded out through experimental research.Deflection and plastic deformation of beams were suppressed effectively after strengthened with externally bonded AFRP fabric.This reinforcement methods also delayed crack,limited crack width and reduced the impact damage.Damage morphology was related to AFRP type and impact height on a certain extent.
