The tubular linear permanent magnet motor(TPLM) is a kind linear permanent magnet motor with special topological structure. Compared to unilateral flat motor and Utype permanent magnet linear motor, TPLM has significant advantages: each pancake coil has no end department, no transverse edge effect, convenient installation, easy to achieve high degrees of protection. Compared with the tubular type induction motor, tubular linear permanent magnet motor has higher power density/efficiency and speed.This paper mainly studies for the electromagnetic design of high performance servo tubular type linear permanent magnet motor for flight simulator. First of all, this paper introduces the structure characteristics and mathematical models of the TPLM, and gives the detailed design process of tubular linear motor, electromagnetic design program using the C++ programming language to design a cylindrical permanent magnet linear motor the use of electromagnetic design calculation program, meet the flight simulator driving electromagnetic scheme device requirements. Secondly,the accuracy of electromagnetic scheme is verified by finite element analysis software ANSOFT.Finally, this paper analyzes the causes of detent force in details, including the cogging force and ending force, and summarizes the undermine methods of permanent magnet synchronous motor cogging force in common. According to the TPLM with 18 slots-12 poles, reduce the cogging force of the motor by the pole arc coefficient optimization and the slot parameters optimization method, reduce the motor end force through the primary length optimization and edge tooth plate corner cutting method, thus meet the requirement of the design positioning force motor.The research of this topic provides process and optimization design methods of TPLM for high performance servo applications, such as driving device of flight simulator.
