Since the 21 st century, Wireless sensor network(WSN) technology as an important technology of gathering information, in what is much accounted by many scholars and enterprises.Wireless sensor network(WSN) can be applied in many fields,including military, aerospace, environmental monitoring, traffic management,intelligenthousehold and so on. Energy harvesting technology has also been more and more attention in recent years, especially the energy problem on earth is becoming more and more serious,energyharvesting technology is more and more important.Among these technologies, the development of the solar energy harvesting technology is the most mature, and most widely used.Combined solar energy harvesting technology and the wireless sensor network(WSN), not only can solve the problem of wireless sensor network energy supply, make it no limited by the capacity of the battery and the cable power supply, but alsoextends the application field of solar energy harvesting technology, making the application of solar energy and a new direction.So, design a solar energy collection system, which can be used on the wireless sensor network, is a very practical application work.The wireless sensor network(WSN) and the solar energy are the research background to design a solar energy harvesting system for a wireless sensor network of intelligent traffic detection in this paper. Based on the power test of SN, RP and AP, we determined design scheme of the solar energy harvesting system. We choose the solar battery and lithium battery first, and then according to the selected solar battery and lithium battery, we fully research and ultimately determine the two different types of chips,CN3065 and LT3652 HV. Finally we use these two chips to design and implement a solar energy harvesting system.Through the test of practical application, the solar energy collection and charging circuit can be designed with the appropriate solar battery and rechargeable lithium battery of a solar power supply system can make the wireless sensor nodes and repeater to be able to continue work, and achieve the goal of design.
