The infrared images of aircraft and decoy in aerial scene play important parts in the technical fields of infrared guidance, the algorithms of target detection and discrimination. It has great significance in modern military to generate infrared images based on computer simulation technology.Since most of simulation works aim at a single target, this thesis builds a simple, easily-used infrared scene simulation system which can simulate the aircraft target and decoy’s infrared images in various conditions of environment or disturbance efficiently and realistically.The geometric model of aircraft is built with Creator tool while the irregular objects such as the cloud, plume and decoy are modeled based on the particle systems theory and texture mapping method in this thesis. Corresponding simulation results are presented with Vega’s infrared simulation module. A method to the infrared simulation of plume with multi-level particle system is proposed for the hardly precisely control to the particle’s infrared parameters on Vega platform. Simulation of plume has good similarity with the result based on actual data and the efficiency can partly be improved with this method.The thesis establishes the motion models of plane target and the decoy’s projection in air scene. Different states of the target and interference can be simulated according to the control of relative parameters.Finally, this thesis introduces the development of simulation software based on MFC/VEGA which contains the following modules of various functions: the generation of target’s 3-D trajectory data, the loading of background cloud, target and interference in scene, the parameters’ control of decoy projection, the control of different atmospheric environment, the image-forming condition and the sensor effect such as noise, motion blur and so on. Simulation images under different conditions in air scene are generated by controlling the simulation parameters.The study of this thesis provides experimental basis for some follow-up algorithms such as target tracking, anti-jamming and so on. It has important and practical significance in infrared simulation, which has certain reference value for the future research of infrared simulation.
