Natural gas is more and more important as the energy of today's world. With the deepening of the oil crisis, natural gas as a clean and abundant energy, is developing rapidly and researches on it also appear new achievements constantly. At present the main research contents have two aspects, on the one hand is the study of low temperature heat exchangers, so that the foundation of industrial can always meet the developing requirements of the technical level; On the other hand is the research of LNG cold energy utilization, LNG cold energy is very huge and high grade, for its full use is not only the requirement of energy conservation, but also an opportunity of combining a variety of industries. Natural gas research in various aspects in our country is still in its infancy, though the prospect is very broad, but there are still many problems need to be solved, especially in basic research.In this paper, low temperature heat exchanger and LNG heat network were studied, the main content includes:(1)Structure of helical coil heat exchanger has carried on the thorough understanding, its application in China and abroad is also probably do the relevant research, and explains the overall design and calculation method.(2)Put forward a simple calculation method for heat exchange area, and confirmed it with some actual examples, the results showed that the calculation method is applicable.(3)Introduce the basic concept of heat exchange network, sets out the design of the several main methods, and find out the relatively accurate method is the pinch analysis method.(4)Designed and calculated the cold energy utilization of LNG ships heat exchange network, and compare the two possible heat exchange networks, finally choose the relatively optimal result, and discuss the relationship between the total cost and the pinch point temperature, it is concluded that within the scope, lower the pinch point temperature is, less the investment will be.In this paper, the proposed introduction of heat exchanger area calculation method and the pros and cons of heat-exchange network analysis heat network design and optimization of research have a certain role in promoting and reference value.
